History of the campsite

An accent of garrigue in southern Ardèche
Starting from a wine-growing estate and an old barn with a few pitches, Simone has now passed the torch to her son Franck and daughter-in-law Sandrine. If the land has expanded, the original values have been preserved: family, nature, friendliness and calm.

From the barn to the campsite
It all began in 1982, Simone and Daniel Wilzius created Campsite Saint Amand. The land has been in Simone’s family for 3 generations. At the time Daniel was a truck driver and Simone was a postman at Laurac.
They started with 100 bare pitches for holidaymakers in tents, caravans or motorhomes. They were of course helped by their sons Franck and Lionel: it was and still is a family affair. Today the campsite is run by Franck and Sandrine, they took over the reins in 1996 and have developed the campsite. With an extension of the site, 20 more pitches and the installation of mobile homes and furnished tents, the campsite has gone from 2 to 3 stars.
Every year the campsite continues to evolve and the next generation is well assured Sandrine and Franck are well supported by their son Dylan and his partner Soizic.

The campsite has been a member of the Flower Campsite chain since its creation in 2005.
We have found values, campsites on a human scale and managers close to their region such as Ardèche.
